Bold Blooms - Felt-A-Long Supplies

Craft along with us!

You can use supplies you already have, gather your own from our list below, or make it easy and order the kit here.

📄 1. Printed Design

✅ Download the Designs - Click Here for the PDF File

You can either:

Trace it onto your fabric either by:

> taping the design to a sunny window, placing the fabric over the design and tracing the design onto the fabric with a pen
> using dressmakers tracing/carbon paper between the design and the fabric
> free-handing the design onto the fabric

Or print it on Paper Solvy — a water-soluble paper you can pin to your fabric and felt right through

🧶 2. Wool Base Fabric – 8x8 inches- light color

Use a piece of wool fabric or felt. We use a cream color, but any light color will work

Avoid looser or sweater-like felt (it won’t hold the details as well)

We recommend woven wool fabric or thick 100% wool felt. The fabric in our kits is 100% wool fabric made by Dorr Mills in New Hampshire

🌫️ 3. Pre-Felt (Optional but Adds Depth) – 8x8 inches

Pre-felt creates a bit of cushion and adds texture to your final piece

Not required, but great if you have it!

🎨 4. Carded Wool – in Design Colors

For the Daisy Design you'll need white for petals, blue for background & orange for centers.

For the Echinacea Design, you'll need coral for petals, dark green for background and orange for the centers.

For the Heart Blooms Design, you'll need light green for leaves, dark green for background and coral and orange for the heart "petals"

For the Bellflower Design, you'll need light green for the vines, blue for the background and center of blossoms and white for the blossoms.

Corriedale wool is ideal — it felts easily and holds detail well.
➡️ We sell these colors in ¼ oz or 1 oz bundles on our site. >>https://bellasflock.com/products/carded-corriedale-wool-for-felting

🪡 5. Felting Needles

  • Recommended: Size 40 triangle (smooth finish) and having two or more on hand is ideal, in case one breaks.

  • You can use size 36 (common in beginner kits) — it works fine, but may leave a slightly rougher texture

  • Needles are also available for sale on our site >>click here

🧽 6. Felting Pad or Mat

  • At least 6x6 inches

  • Foam or wool mats both work — anything that protects your surface and allows the needle to go through

  • can purchase  / see what these are like here >https://bellasflock.com/products/felting-foam-pad

🪵 7. (Optional) Cork Backing – 6x6 inches

  • Want to turn your finished piece into a coaster or trivet?

  • Use adhesive cork or mount it to any backing board after felting
