Yes. We have taught over 3,000 people how to felt, and these designs are printed to give you a clear guide. You take the colored wool, lay it in a section of the design, and use the barbed needle to press it into place. That's it.
It turns your finished tile into a trivet. Attach the cork to the back and you have something you'll actually use on the table - or skip it and frame the tile instead. Either way it's included.
We use carded wool, which felts more easily and evenly for flat projects like these. Most wool labeled roving has been combed smooth - lovely for spinning, less suited to this kind of felting. Yarn will not work.
No. Everything you need is in the kit, including the needles, the cork backing and the printed design. The only choice is whether you need a felting mat - if you already have one, choose the option without the mat.

A note on crafting safely
- Felting needles are very sharp and finely barbed - handle with care and store them safely.
- Recommended for ages 13 and up. This is a craft kit, not a toy.
- Colors may vary slightly between screens and natural wool dye lots.
- Your finished piece is wool - keep it dry and dust gently.
