Felting needles are used felt, shape and design wool without soap and water.
The needles are made in Europe and are between 3 and 3.5 inches long. They have very sharp points and tiny down-pointing barbs. This creates the felting/tangling with the wool. The needle is punched or pushed repeatedly through the fiber, and the barbs mix the fibers, locking them together.
Use 36 gage for general felting- creating shapes and larger landscape design elements. Use finer gage (38/40) for more detail work.
