This kit looks advanced, but is designed for beginners too! That's because the artist has the design pre-sketched onto the wool canvas. It's like painting by number, but with wool! Simply place the carded wool in the kit where the color belongs in the design and use the included barbed needles to poke it, felting it into place. It's so fun and incredibly relaxing.
And her kit is complete and works perfectly. The combination of board, needles and wool are ideally suited for this style of tapestry needle felting.

Needle felting is a simple technique that uses barbed needles and carded wool to decorate a felt surface with design. Simple design shapes and lots of colors combine to create a tapestry. Each will exhibit the unique and personal characteristics of the artist within you. Along the way, you will build your needling skills, gain design experience and experiment with color. You will also gain insight into the basic principles of wet felting in a way that is straightforward and accessible.
Your finished design makes a lovely wall hanging, or if you prefer, it will make a beautiful purse or pillow if wet felted for durability. Each kit includes an instructional brochure, two layers of white pre-felt fabric, two needles, the fiber to complete the design, and a needling board. There is room for flexibility in design and color placement.
